FAQ's

A Public Adjuster is an advocate who is licensed and appointed through the Department of Financial Services (DFS) as an adjuster for you and your family, not the insurance company. When you have a claim, the insurance company is going to send out adjusters that are looking out for them. We are adjusters that are looking out for you.
How do I know if I have a claim? That’s a fair question. As an advocate for you, we would love to complete a free inspection and free policy review. If we are dealing with property repairs (e.g., roof leaks, plumbing, HVAC or mold issues, or cracking in your stucco or foundation), the first question homeowners ask is will my insurance company cover my repairs? Let us come out. Let us do a free inspection and policy review, and let us advise you every step of the way.
Why is it important for us to review your policy? We understand many policy holders may not have read through 60-70 pages of information as it can be confusing and difficult to understand. By reviewing your policy, we gain a better understanding of your coverage, deductibles and if there are any potential pitfalls to avoid. Most importantly, it’s going to help us to determine how much you need to be paid to fully restore your home and property. Why pay out of your pocket today for repairs that are covered by your insurance company?
How do I know if I need a Public Adjuster? That’s a great question. When dealing with property damage, you should absolutely have the expertise of a Public Adjuster. If the insurance company owes you a check, you deserve to know. Day in and day out, we file, negotiate and fight to get you paid as quickly as possible.
Another frequently asked question is what is the cost to have someone like us help you with your claim? The legislature requires that we work solely on a contingency basis, so it costs you nothing unless we are successful in getting additional money for you and your family. We receive a percentage of the recovery amount, but if there is no recovery then you will pay us nothing at all.
Will I receive more money by working with a Public Adjuster? Several years ago, the state of Florida released a study called the OPPAGA Report. What they found is that property owners using a Public Adjuster received anywhere from 500% to 700% more money on their claim. Our recent experience validates these numbers.
Many of you have asked how to pay your deductible. It doesn’t always mean you simply have to write a check. You can use your deductible towards any of your damages such as removing debris, fixing your ceiling or fence, or replacing the food you lost in your fridge when the power went out. It is important to understand exactly how your deductible works and the ways it can be paid. Let us help you every step of the way.
Will they drop me or raise my rates if I file a claim? The answer is no. There are many protections awarded at the legislative level that prevent insurance companies from penalizing you if you file a claim, especially for Acts of God, water losses, and so forth. In fact, many policy holders may not realize that after repairing and restoring your home, the benefits in your policy allow you to bring things up to code. This makes you more insurable than when you had damages and an older policy.
What if my roof is old? What if my home is historic? Are my damages still covered? The answer is always absolutely, yes. The moment your insurance company collects a premium, they have accepted your risk. If you have an older roof that is damaged during a storm, that is a covered claim, and your insurance company owes you a check.
